monkey attacked by snake in the hole
Deep in the heart of the dense jungle, a young monkey named Tiko was exploring near an old tree with a wide, hollowed-out trunk. Curiosity led him to peek inside the dark hole, searching for food or a new hiding spot. Unaware of the danger lurking below, Tiko reached his hand deeper into the hole.
Suddenly, with a sharp hiss, a coiled green pit viper struck out from the shadows. The snake had been resting inside, and Tiko’s intrusion startled it. Its fangs sank into Tiko’s arm before slithering deeper into the darkness. The young monkey let out a loud, terrified scream that echoed through the trees.
Pain surged through his body as the venom began to work. Tiko scrambled backward, clutching his wounded arm, his eyes wide with fear. His cries quickly reached the ears of nearby monkeys from his troop. They rushed toward the tree, chattering loudly, alarmed by the commotion.
The troop's leader, an older monkey named Bako, quickly assessed the situation. He saw Tiko writhing in pain near the tree and noticed the faint trail of the snake disappearing into the hole. The other monkeys formed a protective circle around Tiko, keeping watch in case the snake emerged again.
One of the elder females began licking Tiko’s wound and comforting him, while others screeched warnings to keep the younger monkeys away from the hole. Time passed slowly, but Tiko eventually calmed down, though the pain was still intense.
The attack left a deep scar on Tiko’s arm—and in his memory. He never approached dark holes again, and the troop learned to be cautious of the unseen dangers that could be hiding, silent and deadly, in the quiet places of the jungle.
